Diversity Competency (DQ) is having the capability, skills and knowledge to work with colleagues and clients from diverse backgrounds and leverage from diversity of thought.

At Diversity@Work we believe it is imperative to offer a competency development experience that is informative, enjoyable and underpinned by adult learning methodologies that are:

Contextualised programs can be designed and delivered to provide a strong foundation of consistent skills and knowledge for all leaders within your organisation.

Examples of our learning and development programs include:

  • EEO@Work

    This training program has been developed to enable participants to respond effectively and confidently to Equal Opportunity legislation requirements and related workplace behavioural issues. This workshop will familiarise participants with the law and best practice, to manage the risk of it being broken, and through discussing some recent decisions and actual scenarios help you handle complaints and grievances in the best way, through case studies, observation and sharing experiences, with an acknowledged expert in the field.

  • HR & EEO@Work

    This training program has been for those in roles that are responsible for the development and implementation of company policy and procedure. This workshop will familiarise participants with their responsibilities and best practice to manage risk.

  • Contact Officers@Work

    Contact Officers within organisations often need an upgrade of their skills and knowledge within the EEO arena. The training will further support building awareness of all corporate personnel on Equal Opportunity Employment. The program will provide the Contact officers with improved confidence to support internal staff in recognising and dealing with internal issues around EEO.

  • Managing EEO@Work

    This training program has been developed to enable participants to know the law and possess the skills to interpret and apply it properly. This workshop will familiarise managers with the law and best practice. It will give them the tools to manage risk as well as develop a proactive approach to equal opportunity.

Leading Diversity@Work

This program is designed to provide your organisation’s Executive Leadership team with information and resources to enhance their knowledge of the diverse perspectives, values and behaviours of colleagues and clients within the network of your organisation.

This program explores attitudes and behaviours and the complex challenges faced in intercultural communication and cooperation. It reviews the dynamics of potential stereotyping and bias surrounding culture and gender and provides an introduction to cultural values and norms which impact upon attitudes and communication. The program includes hands-on exercises designed to increase participant awareness and competency required to lead diverse teams.
