Disability Awareness Training

20% of the Australian population has a disability, including 2.2 million Australians of working age. - ABS, 2005

People with disabilities have proven to be loyal and reliable and subject to lower than average rates of turnover and workplace injuries, yet they experience a much higher than average unemployment rate. In order for organisations to be competitive in today's labour market, they must be able to tap into this underutilised pool of talent.

This training program has been developed to empower participants to work effectively and confidently with people with a disability, and to explore strategies for establishing a disability-friendly workplace.
