Fiona Jewell
Profile
Fiona has been an educator since 1988. She draws upon her diverse cultural and educational background to inform her unique teaching style. Having been raised immersed in Anglo-Saxon, Chinese, Thai and Malay cultures and having studied and worked in Japan, Singapore and England she brings a multifaceted perspective to the learning environment.
Experience
Believing that education is the most powerful medium for stimulating ideas and encouraging creative, critical thinking, she has taught at universities, TAFE colleges, secondary and primary schools and kindergartens.
Fiona has developed her expertise in training and facilitation through years of experience creating her own content and curriculum, presenting lectures to the public and a variety of programs in large and small organisations.
Inspiring students from the ages of four to seventy four, Fiona has taught in such diverse fields as architecture, literacy, dance, Japanese language and culture, film literacy, intercultural awareness, ESL, disability awareness, indigenous and intergenerational awareness. Fiona writes children's stories, study guides for films, writes for education magazines, sculpts and paints in her spare time and has created community murals.
